Daniel Regan Named PBC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State freshman Daniel Regan has been named the Peach Belt Conference's men's tennis Player of the Week, announced by league officials on Tuesday.

Regan went a perfect 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles as the top-ranked Pirates remained undefeated on the 2010 season with three victories.

The Leeds, England, native gave up just four games in singles in recording straight-set wins over Augusta State's Jan Labas (6-1, 6-1), USC Aiken's Ben Klass (6-0, 6-1) and Anderson's Ilya Zakharov (6-0, 6-1). He then teamed with Matus Mydla to defeat doubles teams from No. 26-ranked Augusta State, No. 17-ranked USC Aiken and no. 22-ranked Anderson.

So far this year, Regan is a perfect 6-0 in singles and doubles during the dual match campaign. He is the first AASU men's tennis player to earn Player of the Week honors in 2010.

Regan and the Pirates are currently in action on Tuesday at GCSU in a Peach Belt Conference showdown with the Bobcats.
